- Multi-specialty approach: Psychiatrists guide your care and work closely with nursing staff and therapists to tailor your experience. We communicate regularly throughout treatment, enabling us to adjust therapies to your changing needs.

Our Approach to Adult IOP Mental Health
When you choose our adult intensive outpatient program, you benefit from:
- Individual treatment planning: Right from the outset, we get to know you and your goals. Then we tailor therapies to help you reach them.
- Psychiatric assessments and medication management: For some people, medications are necessary to quiet symptoms so you can focus on healing. We aim to prescribe the appropriate drug and dose for you to feel your best.
- Group therapy: Mental health providers guide discussions that help you examine current thoughts and behaviors. We also equip you with the knowledge and skills to change them.
- Individual interventions as needed: When setbacks occur, we are here for you with one-on-one attention and the encouragement you need to get back on track.
- Discharge planning: As you near the end of treatment, we help you with aftercare services.
Adult IOP Mental Health Programs
At Sierra Vista, there are many paths toward healing. We offer IOP mental health services focused on specific needs so you can get the most out of treatment.
Offerings include:
Behavioral Health IOP
This program is for individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder or PTSD. We help you process what’s triggering unhealthy behaviors and develop coping mechanisms. You also learn effective communication strategies for sharing your needs and preferences.
Behavioral health IOP sessions are typically available from 9 a.m. to noon, 3 days per week.
Substance Abuse IOP
You develop skills and thought patterns that support lasting sobriety. A psychiatrist guides your care experience. You also participate in group therapy sessions led by qualified counselors. After completing this IOP, you may be eligible to attend an aftercare program for at least one year.
Substance abuse IOP sessions are typically available from 9 a.m. to noon, 3 days per week.
Evening IOP (Telehealth Only)
Receive the same intensive therapy as our behavioral health IOP, on a schedule that fits your lifestyle. These online sessions are held in the evenings via telehealth, so you have more time for other obligations. Our staff lead engaging discussions and activities that help you meet your goals.
Evening IOP is typically available from 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
IOP for Adolescents
Severe mental health issues often impact younger adults, and we’re here to help. Sierra Vista’s adolescent intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed to meet the needs of people between 12½ and 17 years old. We offer age-appropriate therapy on a schedule that makes it easier to keep up with schoolwork.
